Good News Back from the Field!

College Grove, Tennessee: Bill Hunter, song leader for the Allisona church of Christ in College Grove, Tennessee, shared this note: "I led singing this past Sunday at the Allisona congregation.  When the invitation was extended a lady came forward who had heard about this congregation from Heart to Heart mailing."

Requests for Bible Courses in Tennessee: The Union Hill church of Christ in Gallatin, Tennessee, emailed us recently to order five Bible Correspondence Course packets to share with those who had requested them after receiving House to House. Elaine Wright from the Carthage church of Christ in Carthage, Tennessee, also emailed us to let us know they had received a Bible Course from a reader of their copies of House to House.

Dickson, Tennessee: Edgar Beard from the Sylvia church of Christ in Dickson, Tennessee, wrote us to remind us of some of their success with House to House.  Brother Beard said, "We had a baptism within the first six months. She died a few months ago and had been totally faithful. So one soul saved. We also had a Baptist preacher and his wife attend our meeting with Bill McDonald and a Methodist preacher and his wife come to a VBS one night. Appreciate all you folks do for the cause of Christ!"

House to House Plaques: Last month several churches in the House to House program received plaques thanking them for being in the top five and ten percent of churches (overall numbers in 2016) to send out House to House.  Jim Faughn from the Central Church of Christ in Paducah, KY shared this message and picture on Facebook:

"We just received a nice plaque from the brethren at House to House - Heart to Heart acknowledging the fact that the Central church of Christ is in the top 5% in circulation of all congregations participating in mailing out this publication. I don't think any of us even knew we were! Thank you to the HtH-HtH crew."

If your congregation received a plaque, share your picture with us by e-mailing If you didn't receive a plaque, email us, and we will let you know how close you were.

Keep sowing the seed!

What Else Can House to House Do for Your Congregation?

New Movers Program: For participating in House to House, we give you the opportunity to reach anyone that moves into your community in a special way. For any issue of House to House that you participate in, anyone that moves into the routes you are covering will receive an introductory issue of House to House that is focused on the basics of the Lord's church, followed a couple of weeks later by a postcard. You should be able to reach them twice before anyone else in the area even knows they are there. We can also share the addresses with you, so that you can follow up with them, mail them something else, or knock on their door. The cost is just $5 per month and $1 per address. There are usually just a few of these, but they seem to be really good soil since they are new to the area and often looking for a church to attend.

Free Website: For participating in House to House, we are offering you a free website. We will build it for free, we'll host it for free, and we'll maintain it for free. A lot of people in the community will research a church online before they visit, so having a website is very important. Just for working with us on this, you can have it for free for a year. After one year, you can have it free for another year if you print again, or maintain it for just $15 per month if you don't print. If you stop printing and don't want to keep the website, just cancel it. Here is an example website that we built.  It's very simple right now, but this will give you an idea of what we can do. HTH 2017 Featured Articles

This year we will emphasize three approaches to evangelism: apologetic, doctrinal, and "positive" Christianity (Acts 2:47).

In a world quickly becoming secular, it is important to build faith in God, the deity of Christ, and the inspiration of Scripture (Philippians 1:17).

In a world confused by false religion, it is valuable to clearly present the truth about Christianity, the church, the plan of salvation, and acceptable worship (2 Timothy 4:2).

In a world where many view religion with skepticism and cynicism, it is helpful to highlight positive aspects of Christianity such as hope, joy, love, and forgiveness (John 10:10).

To accomplish these aims, we selected the following themes:

  1. January/February • I’m Looking for a Church That Is Not So Negative
  2. March/April • Rescued from Hell in a Philippian Jail: The Midnight Conversion of a Suicidal Jailer
  3. May/June • The Twenty-Two Most Important Words Ever Spoken on Marriage
  4. July/August • What Jesus Told Me to Tell You (1 Corinthians 15:1–4; Romans 6:3–5).
  5. September/October • Why Does God Allow Suffering?
  6. November/December • Heaven Will Surely Be Worth It All

Who knows what God has in store for HTH? Let's pray for wisdom to reach the most people in the best way to convert those with good and honest hearts (Luke 8:15).
