Good News Back from the Field!

42 Bible Study Requests! We have received 42 requests for Bible studies since last issue and have passed those along to HTH congregations.  Year-to-date studies: 298.

Conversion in Los Banos, California: Glen Bowman from the Los Banos Church of Christ in Los Banos, California, sent us an exciting email. “I thought that you'd like to know that two people were baptized Sunday who started coming from the summer mailing (the big July/August issue) that we did through you!“

“I'm not sure exactly what details that I should share, but here is goes: Melissa came with her daughter the week before VBS in July (we advertised for that in our HTH mailing). The next Sunday Melissa came back, but not her daughter. One of the days of VBS, Melissa and her husband came without their daughter and sat in the adult class. He didn't come much, but Melissa kept coming on and off and sometimes her daughter came too. She started coming more regularly again recently, and then he reached out to me a few days before he was baptized for help with things going on in his life. That Sunday I offered the invitation and they both came forward. I talked to them and studied with them a bit beforehand to make sure they understood, and they both seemed motivated to be baptized then. Most of the members of the church stayed behind until after the study was over and celebrated their baptism with them!"

Conversion in Centerville, Tennessee: Paul Vaughn works with the Shipps Bend Church of Christ in Centerville, Tennessee. He shared the following:  “We had a baptism as a direct result of HTH. The lady is continuing to study with us; we have had seven extra Bible studies, and she is doing great!“

Conversion in LaGrange, Georgia: Buddy Logan from the Bartley Road Church of Christ in LaGrange, Georgia, sent us great news. He said,  “On 10/25 Allen Hayes was baptized into Christ after receiving our first mailing and resulting follow-ups. We are all just tickled!“ Sometimes it just takes one mailing to find someone looking for the truth. To God be the glory!

Studies in Oilton, Oklahoma: Bill Zuker of the Mannford Church of Christ in Oklahoma, sent this note to Daniel Beck this week: “Daniel, we received the contacts e-mail last Thursday (November 2). I noticed a Deasia Furrh from Oilton, Oklahoma, asking for Biblical Financial Advice material. Oilton is approximately 15 miles from Mannford; I don’t know if she receives HTH from Mannford or another congregation. We started a two-Sunday class on How to Handle Your Money last Sunday (November 5). I sent the contact information to Tony Keesee, our pulpit minister, and mentioned she may be interested in our class. Tony sent a letter on Thursday (November 2), inviting her to our finance class. Sunday morning Deasia Furrh and a friend were at our building, attended class, and plan on being in Mannford this Sunday also. HTH is a great outreach. I wanted to share this story. The Mannford congregation appreciates the efforts of everyone at HTH.”
